1/4 cup chopped onions
1/4 cup chopped celery
1/4 cup grated carrots
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 lb. ground beef or turkey
1/2 cup tomato paste
1/4 cup honey
3 tbsp. water
1 tbsp. vinegar
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
4 hamburger buns
Salt and pepper to taste
In a large pan over medium heat, sauté onions, celery and carrots in oil until soft.
Stir in beef or turkey; cook 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until meat is browned and crumbly.
Stir in remaining ingredients, except salt, pepper and hamburger buns.
Simmer, covered, 3 to 5 minutes.
Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Divide mixture evenly between hamburger buns to serve.
