1/2 cup Naked Wild Honey
2 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
16 slices (or about 1 pound thick-cut) bacon
Freshly cracked black pepper for garnish
Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
In a small mixing bowl, combine the honey, brown sugar, cider vinegar, pepper, and cayenne pepper.
Place the bacon slices on a cooling rack set over a baking sheet. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes.
Remove the bacon from the oven and brush the bacon with the honey mixture, then return it to the oven for five minutes.
Remove the bacon from the oven and, using tongs, carefully flip the bacon. Brush the bacon with the honey mixture and return it to the oven for another five minutes.
Repeat the flipping and brushing process until the bacon is a deep brown and the edges have begun to crisp and curl, about 35 minutes total.
Before it’s fully cooled, carefully transfer the bacon to wax paper.
Garnish with freshly cracked black pepper and let it cool for at least 30 minutes. Once cooled, serve or store overnight in an air-tight container.
